Christ College, Rajkot, established in 1998 and inaugurated by the former Indian President Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, is one of the leading higher educational institutions in the region of Saurashtra and Kutch of Gujarat, India. The College, affiliated to Saurashtra University, offers undergraduate courses like BSc, BCom, BA, BBA, BCA, and a niche course BSc Bioinformatics. The College was accredited with five star status by NAAC in 2002, and also certified by ISO 9002:2001 for its consistent quality since 2003.
The Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics is offering two undergraduate courses in Life Science: BSc Biotechnology & BSc Bioinformatics, and two certificate courses: Plant Tissue Culture and Bioinformatics- Databases & Tools. Christ College is the first institution in Asia to provide an undergraduate degree in Bioinformatics.
The Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics is organizing two national level workshops on “Bioinformatics” and “Cheminformatics” during 3rd week of September, 2009. Three days are set part for each workshop.
The workshop on Bioinformatics is from September 14 to 16, 2009 and the workshop on Cheminformatics is from September 17 to 19, 2009. We request you along with your department / college to support us by participating in the workshop.
